Santrokofi-Benua(V/R), July 10, GNA-The hospitality by the chiefs and people of Santrokofi-Benua towards 13-student tourists and teachers of the American River College (ARC), Sacramento has encouraged them to integrate into foster families in the community. Ms Cynthia Johnson, tutor of dance, and leader of delegation said the friendly gesture, hospitality and drumming and dancing displayed during an earlier visit two and half years ago, motivated and informed the group to make a comeback trip.
She said the community’s “Agbeyeye Borborbor” troupe made an indelible impression on her and she therefore decided to organize her students to embark on another trip to Africa. Ms Johnson said the experience would enrich teaching of drumming and dance back in College in the USA. Ms Johnson said the students were eager to sample the scenery and daily cultural lifestyles of the area during their three-day stay. She said a two-pronged cultural tie was being forged between ARC and the Santrokofi community. Nana Sarku Brempong V, Nifahene of Santrokofi, welcomed the guests and assured them of a memorable opportunity through the exposure to the rich cultural practices of the people, their friendliness, and the beauty of the environment.
