Bank of Ghana staff embark on sit-down strike

Accra, July 2, GNA – Staff of the Bank of Ghana have embarked on a sit-down strike following the dismissal of two of their colleagues, a source close to the Bank had said.

Mr. Benjamin Duffuor, Chairman and Mr Frank Mensah, Secretary of the Bank of Ghana Senior Staff Association, were handed their dismissal letters last Friday and their identity cards, which allow them entry into the bank’s premises, taken from them.

Meanwhile, management of the Bank are in a meeting to see how best to resolve the impasse.
