Past IGPs congratulate Addo-Kufuor

Accra, June 19, GNA – The Association of Retired Inspectors-General of Police has sent a message of congratulations to Dr. Kwame Addo-Kufuor on his appointment as Minister of the Interior.

In a statement signed by Mr. R. K. Kublenu, Secretary, the Association commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for bringing back Dr. Addo-Kufuor to the Ministry.

The statement said though Dr Addo-Kufuor’s earlier stay at the Ministry of the Interior was short it was remarkable as he took the welfare of the men and women of the Ghana Police Service seriously. The Association said Dr. Addo-Kufuor’s long stay at the Ministry of Defence saw a huge improvement and prayed that the Minister translated those laudable achievements to the Ministry of the Interior. The statement urged Dr Addo-Kufuor to work relentlessly to push forward the legalization of the terms and conditions of service of the Police Service to inspire lasting confidence and motivation in all ranks.

This would enable it to regain its glory as an enviable protector of life, property and the democratic values of the country.
