Living Christ Evangelistic Ministry holds session for youth

Suhum E/R), June 17, GNA-The Suhum branch of the Living Christ Evangelical Ministry in the Eastern Region, on Sunday organised a special church session for a section of the youth of Suhum. The session was part of the church’s outreach programme throughout its branches in the country. Speaking to over 150 people, mostly the youth, Reverend Herbert Mensah, Presiding Reverend of the Church, advised the youth to avoid ungodly and negative practices, in order not rpt not to be branded as agents of destruction. Rev. Mensah stressed the need for the youth to take active part in communal activities. He also urged them to do away with apathy that acts as a drawback to national development. He urged Christians to intensify evangelism to help change society for the better.

The Presiding Reverend urged the church to address itself to issues of indiscipline, particularly among the youth in churches and schools. He charged the leadership of churches to strive to guard against the tendency of engaging in evil deeds, and allow the truth and righteousness to be their watchword at all times. Rev. Mensah expressed worry that people like drug peddlers and armed robbers lived in the midst of some Christians, but were afraid to speak the word of God to them to change their diabolical activities. Pastor Justice Asare, Resident Pastor of the Suhum branch of the church, called on Christians to offer help to the disadvantaged, especially street children in society. He stressed the need for Christians to show love and kindness to HIV/AIDS patients and not to condemn them, saying that the disease could afflict anyone. Pastor Asare urged Christians to be “Ambassadors of Reconciliation” in society.
