Cape Coast, June 6, GNA – Philip Amissah, a 20-year-old unemployed, was on Friday remanded by a Circuit Court in Cape Coast for allegedly stealing roofing sheets from the roof of the M.A. Primary and Junior High School building.
Amissah pleaded not guilty and is to re-appear on June 25. Prosecuting Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that on Thursday Amissah, a former pupil of the school, was spotted by the school’s security man entering one of the classrooms through the window. Amissah was later seen carrying a sack but dropped it and bolted when he saw the security man who later opened the sack and found some roofing sheets.
It was detected that he removed the sheets from a classroom block under construction. Fredrick Ebow Amissah, an 18-year-old was also remanded by the court for allegedly stealing two mobile phones and CFA 350,000 and GH¢64.
He pleaded not guilty and is to be re-arraigned June 20. Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that last Tuesday, Amissah stole the money and phones from a friend who had given him a place to sleep at Mankessim. 06 June 08
