Three footbridges to be constructed at Nsawam

Nsawam, May 31, GNA – Three footbridges are to be constructed at Nsawam to facilitate movement of people in view of the construction of a dual carriageway from Ofankor to the town. President John Agyekum Kufour would cut the sod next month for commencement of the project. Mr Magnus Opare-Asamoah, Deputy Minister for Roads and Transport, announced this at this year’s Akuapem South District People’s Assembly at Nsawam.

He said plans were far advanced for the procurement of an eight-hectare to build a multi-market complex that would include a bakery, parking lot and a filling station at Nsawam. Mr Opare-Asamoah who is also the Member of Parliament for Akuapem South said the market complex would create an area for bread sellers who normally conduct their businesses on the road side.

Mr Andrew Nyarko-Adu, Akuapem South District Chief Executive announced that the district had been selected to benefit from the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) to enhance agriculture. 31 May 08
