Kwamang (Ash) The Kwamanman Rural Bank Limited has disbursed 40 million cedis out of the 100 million cedis loan package it received under the IFAD/Small Credit Input Project (SCIMP) to small-scale entrepreneurs in the area. The loans were disbursed to 200 local entrepreneurs engaged in the processing of agricultural produce, their development and marketing to enable them to improve and expand those aspects of the agricultural sector. Mr S. O. Attah, Supervising Manager of the Kwamanman Rural Bank, disclosed this to newsmen at the end of a two-month in-service training course for 40 members of staff of the bank at Kwamang in the Sekyere West district. The course was designed to enhance their banking techniques and competence. Mr Adu Agyei, manager of the Kwaman branch of the bank, said the bank has instituted a crash programme to educate beneficiaries on the judicious use of such loans since they are not gifts. An out-reach programme has also been put in place to enable the bank penetrate the very remote communities in its catchment area to mop up excess liquidity and channel them into productive ventures in those areas.
