Six communities to benefit from free medical services

Accra, May 25, GNA- Six communities along the coastal area of the Volta Region would benefit from free mobile medical services as part of a campaign against the help to eradicate malaria in the country. The exercise, which would be organised by Trashy Bags Limited, a plastic waste recycling company in Accra, would cost about 30,000 Ghana Cedis.

Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive of the company, announced these in Accra after the company had distributed more than 2,000 mosquito treated nets to the people at Madina on Sunday. He named the beneficiary communities as Anum, Dodze Island, Bentikope, Kpalime, Dodzi Asantekrom and Dzemeni. Mr Osei Bonsu said the exercise which started in March this year, would be extended to deprived communities in the Eastern, Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions. He said so far the company had distributed more than 20,000 nets towards the prevention of Malaria. Mr Osei Bonsu appealed to the people to observe environmental cleanliness to prevent the disease. 25 May 08
