Aflao CEPS intercepts smuggled was prints

Aflao, May 24, GNA – Officials of the CEPS at Aflao have intercepted a bus loaded with 1,164 pieces of wax prints at Whuti following a tip off.

The driver of the vehicle with registration number GE 9876 W together with other occupants absconded. Mr Nicholas Kwafo, Assistant Collector of CEPS who led the team, told the GNA that the CEPS Patrol Unit had a hint at about 0130 hours on May 23 that a vehicle full of smuggled goods was travelling through a bush path toward Akatsi from Whuti. He said when the team spotted the vehicle the driver ignored signs to stop and sped off.

Mr Kwafo said during a hot chase the driver stopped the vehicle and escaped with others on it. He said reinforcement was called and with the help of a tractor, the vehicle was towed with the goods to Aflao for investigations to start.
