Re: Ghanaian Denied Medical Care in London

This story in the General News of Thursday, 15 May 2008 of ghanaweb.com essentially said that Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust left a woman by the name Emelia Frimpong to die and wickedly refused to treat her on humanitarian grounds.

Our prompt investigations at Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust can confirm the story is false.

A source in the said hospital, who would however like to remain anonymous, assured us that the story was a malicious lie and whoever put the story out should first have contacted them as we did.

Emelia Frimpong is receiving treatment irrespective of her immigration status, as it should be in any civilised country.

We would like all to note that Ghanaians in the UK pay enough tax in the UK for their kith and kiln to be treated if ill, whatever their status, just like illegal white Australians amongst others are also treated irrespective of their immigration status.
