The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised to revive all closed-down factories within the first 100 days when given the mandate to rule this country. The move is to create job opportunities for the numerous jobless youth in the country. Mr. Ishmael Ashittey, MP for Tema East, gave the assurance at a rally at the Mexico School Park at Tema Community 2 to formally launch the NPP rally in the Tema West Constituency.
Addressing a crowd of supporters, Mr. Ashitey said the NPP, as part of its priority programme, will implement policies to revamp all factories to ensure immediate employment for the youth of the country.
The MP claimed that in recognition of the good programme that the NPP has for the nation, members of other political parties are joining forces with the NPP to ensure victory for the NPP Presidential candidate in the forthcoming elections.
The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NPP, Nii Ayitey Boafo, attributed the lack of jobs by most Tema residents to the collapse of industries within the industrial city.
He said this situation of hopelessness has been created through the mismanagement of the government. Nii Ayitey, therefore, urged all jobless and deprived people in the country to vote massively for the NPP for a better future. According to him, the NPP will abrogate the Cash and Carry system being implemented in hospitals as soon as it is elected into office.
Earlier, Mr. Samuel Hammah, the Second Vice-Chairman of the Tema West Constituency NPP, who was the first person to address the gathering, goofed by mentioning CPP instead of NPP in singing before he quickly corrected the mistake.
According to him the NDC has nothing new to offer the country, He urged all Ghanaians to vote for change and fresh ideas. Other speakers including the MP for the Tema West Constituency Mr. Abraham Ossei Aidooh appealed to the residents of Tema to vote massively for the NPP to turn the economy round.
They also advised their supporters to desist from using party colours or other identifications on the day of the elections.
