Accra, April 23, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday remanded into police custody a 35 year-old electrician for defiling a seven year-old pupil.

Appiah Dankwah charged with defilement pleaded not guilty. He is to reappear on May 6.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr George Abavelim said at about 7.30 pm on April 18, this year, the victim went to watch television with her younger brother in a house nearby.

The prosecutor said while watching the television, Dankwah went there and beckoned her to come.

When Dankwah met the victim, he led her to an obscure place behind a brown container, 200 meters way from where she was watching the television and defiled her.

Prosecution said during the act, the victim experienced some pains and began to shout. Some boys who were passing by heard her and went to the scene.

The prosecutor said the accused was found busily having sex with the victim. The boys therefore pounced on him and handed him over to victim’s mother who also handed him over to the police.
