Apostolic Church, Ghana, on National elections

Accra, April 14, GNA – The Apostolic Church, Ghana, has directed its clergy and presiding elders to conduct “intensive prayer programmes” in all local assemblies towards the December 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary election. A circular signed by Apostle John .A. Adotey, President of the Church, said the aim was to ensure peaceful election and transition of government.

It said: “We call on all members of the Church to comport themselves in such a manner that is consistent with Christian behaviour during this period.” The circular warned that, the headquarters of the Church would not entertain any kind of misconduct during the election and would therefore not hesitate to take disciplinary action against “any body caught in an act of misdemeanour”.
