Nkoranza North Assembly accepts nominee

Busunya (B/A), April 10, GNA – Members of Nkoranza North District Assembly in Brong-Ahafo have confirmed Madam Grace Obeng-Donkor as the District Executive Chief Executive, polling 24 out of the 25 valid votes cast. In her acceptance speech Madam Obeng-Donkor thanked the members and urged

them to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation to enhance the rapid development of the district.

She said since traditional rulers played a critical role in the local governance system, she would work to promote and consolidate the participation of chiefs in decision making.

Abraham Kwadwo Kwakye, Deputy Regional Minister, said the creation of new districts by the government was meant to enhance the development of communities for an improvement in the living standards of the people.

Mr. Benjamin Adu Darko, Presiding Member, urged his colleagues to unite to help lay a better foundation for the new district.

Madam Obeng-Donkor, 59, a specialist science teacher and assembly member for Yefri, is the proprietor of His Grace International School in Sunyani.
