87 displaced by rainstorm at Ave-Dzalele

A rainstorm, lasting about 30 minutes Monday evening swept across Ave-Dzalele and surrounding areas in the Akatsi-North District.

The storm ripped off roofs, collapsed walls and felled trees.

About 87 people were displaced and personal effects destroyed.

The displaced were said to be living with relatives and friends.

Mr James Gunu, Akatsi-North District Executive (DCE), who toured the affected communities soon after the passage of the storm assured victims of support.

A storm of the same magnitude hit the area last year around the same period, also causing a lot of damage.
