80-year-old farmer electrocuted at Nkoranza

Madam Yaa Frimpomaa, 80, a farmer and former kitchen staff of Nkoranza Senior High School has been electrocuted.

Nana Kokuraa Nyarko, Abirahemaa of Nkoranza and Family Spokesman told Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the deceased left home to pick cashew nuts on her farm with two of her grand-children.

She said immediately they reached the farm it begun to rain therefore, they decided to return home and on their way the deceased slipped and attempted clinching on to a pole that had some electric wires dangling around it and was electrocuted.

The Nkoranza Police confirmed the incident and said investigations are on-going while the corpse had been deposited at the Saint Theresa’s Hospital mortuary at Nkoranza.
