80 million cedis scholarship for 200 pupils

Odupong Ofankor (C/R), Dec 17, GNA – The Founder and Leader of the Great Word of God Church at Odupong-Ofankor in the Central Region, Bishop Kweku Adea, has offered an 80 million-cedi scholarship package to 200 pupils at the Good Shepherd Preparatory School.

He said the package was his personal incentive to parents in the area to give quality education to their children to enable them to become useful citizens in future.

Bishop Adea who is the Proprietor of the School announced this at a meeting of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Ofankor, near Kasoa. He called on individuals, Non governmental Organisations (NGOs) and philanthropists to support the government’s efforts to ensure that every children received quality education.

Bishop Adea stressed the need to pay attention to the development of the country’s human resource to manage the various sectors of the economy for the development of the country.

He announced that the school had acquired 20 acres of land for the construction of classroom blocks and a clinic to take care of the health of the children.

Meanwhile, Miss Sabina Egolf, a German based in Holland has presented items worth 5 million cedis to the Good Shepherd Orphanage for the up-keep of the inmates.

The items included 54 pairs of shoes, 54 towels, educational materials drugs, footballs and toys.

Miss Egolf who was on attachment at the school with a group of volunteers made the presentation at the end of their three and half month stay.

Bishop Adea thanked the volunteers for the gesture and appealed to individuals and organisations to fellow their example.
