73 year-old remanded for attempting to commit crime

Nkawie (Ash), March 17, GNA- A circuit court at Nkawie on Thursday remanded John Butcher Barimah, a 73-year-old farmer at Sreso-Tinponmu in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, for attempting to commit crime.

The plea of the accused was not taken and he will re-appear before court on March 21.

Police Inspector F.K. Kpoafah told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that Barimah attempted on two occasions to gun down J.B. Addae, the complainant, over a cocoa farm at Sreso-Tinponmu. Inspector Kpoafah said after that failed, the suspect attempted to set fire to the farm.

The prosecutor prayed the court to remand accused to enable the police at Sreso-Tinponmu ensured that the suspect accompanied fire volunteers to assess the extent of damage caused to the farm.
