The Takoradi Circuit Court A, on Tuesday sentenced Nana Ahenkofi, a 70-year-old man to 10 years imprisonment, for defiling a five-year old girl.
His accomplice, Kofi Esuon, 60, pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, and is to re-appear on March 30.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Veronica Gibson, told the court presided over by Mrs Rita Doku, that the two accused persons lived in the same vicinity with the victim at Effia in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis.
Chief Inspector Gibson said, on February 8, the two oldies lured the victim into one of the accused person’s chambers, and had many rounds of unnatural canal affair with the small girl.
Chief Inspector Gibson said, the two accused persons then threatened the girl not to disclose her ordeal to her parents.
The prosecution said, the girl’s mother detected blood stains in her panties days after the incident, but did not suspect any foul play, until two of her teachers detected serious vaginal and anal bleeding at school on February 9.
The prosecutor said a medical report confirmed that the victim had been defiled, and upon interrogation, she mentioned the names of the two accused persons.
