70-year-old man commits suicide

Winneba(C/R), Sept. 12, GNA – Kobina Yamoah, 70, committed suicide at Winneba at the weekend.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Nicolas Gasu in charge of Winneba District Police Command confirmed to the Ghana News Agency, in an interview at Winneba on Tuesday. DSP Gasu said on Monday September 4, one Dickson Oppong who lived in the same house with the deceased informed the police in the evening that the deceased’s wife returned from the market and found their room locked.

He said a carpenter was invited to break the door and the deceased was found hanging dead on a rope tied to the ceiling in their bedroom. DSP Gasu said the corpse had been deposited at the Winneba Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy while the police continued with investigations. 12 Sept. 06
