7 Burnt alive in Kumbungu car crash

Seven people travelling in two taxis are feared to have been burnt alive in a crash on the Kumbungu-Tamale road in the Northern Region.

The taxis collided head-on in the ghastly accident, which occurred on Saturday.

One of the cars, powered by gas, instantly exploded, burning seven people onboard the two vehicles.

The two cars were damaged and burnt beyond repair.

It is not yet clear how the head-on collision occurred.

The Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service in the Region has launched investigations into it.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital.
