’62 Catholic Youths Represent Ghana

in this year Catholic World Youth Day in Spain’

Sixty-Two catholic youths and some catholic priests have been selected from all over the country to represent the Catholic Church in Ghana at this year’s Catholic World Youth Day, at Madrid in Spain.

This year’s one mark the 26th Edition of the Catholic Youth Day Celebration which is held every two years by the Holy Catholic Church for her youth in the whole world.

The official Ghana delegation which would be led by Most Rev. G.C. Palmer-Buckle, Episcopal President of Catholic Youth in Ghana include eight priests, 23 females and rest being males.

The Diocese of Astorga in Spain would host the Ghana delegation with other pilgrims from Ecuador from 7-10 Aug 2011 and on 10th August, they will move to La Rua in Pablo VI College.

The delegation is to come back to Ghana on 24th August, 2011. The World Youth Day programme is pilgrimage programme which help thousands of Catholic Youths all-over the World to have interaction with His Holiness, Pope Benedict 16.

According to Mr. Edward Dampah Dampah-Yin, General sectary, the group would leave the offshore of Ghana this Saturday for the programme. He said the group is currently being camp at the Catholic Youth Center in Accra to prepare the delegates for the programme.
