Tarkwa (W/R) Sept. 6, -GNA-A Tarkwa Circuit court, presided over by Mr. John Ajet Nasam, has sentenced Mary Dadzie, alias Ama Ekuba, 27, to six years imprisonment for pouring hot porridge on Cynthia Appiah, a drinking bar operator.

She was sentenced on her own plea.

Prosecuting, Inspector Patrick Adzadza of Tarkwa Police said both the complainant, Appiah and the accused Dadzie, a seamstress stay at Kwaminakrom near Nsuta-Wassa.

Inspector Adzadza said sometime ago, Appiah accused Dadzie of stealing her drinks and therefore banned Dadzie from entering the drinking bar and as a result they have not been on good terms. He said on September 2, 2007, Dadzie and some people went to Appiah’s drinking bar and gossiped about Appiah.

Dadzie, armed with hot porridge, enquired about what she has done and poured it on Appiah, who sustained severe burns on the neck, back, both hands and the chest. A report was made to the Police and Appiah was arrested.
