59 Fire outbreaks recorded in Nkoranza Municipal last year

The Nkoranza Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) recorded 59 domestic and bush fires last year.

Thirty of them were bushfires, 16 domestic fires, 11 accidents and incident fires and two industrial fires, Mr. Henry Esson, Assistant Nkoranza Municipal Fire Officer told the GNA in an interview at Nkoranza.

He expressed concern about the use of leaked gas cylinders and multiple connections of electrical gadgets on a socket which caused most domestic fires, and cautioned the general public to be careful.

Mr. Esson said fire personnel had intensified education on management skills and techniques for staff of fuel stations in the municipality and advised people close to fuel stations to be vigilant and report any sigh of suspected fire to the Command.
