58 Year Old Woman in Class Four

A 58 year old class four pupil of the Nsesreso Asuhyiaye Primary School in the Dormaa Municipality in the Brong-Ahafo region, Madam Mary Gyabea, has set herself the objective of promoting education in the area and the country at large.

The mother of 10 children told our reporter that education is the only way to propel the country towards the middle income status. She said she is therefore setting an example for the youth to emulate.

Madam Gyabea who is in class four with her grandson took the third position while her grandson came 7th in their third term examination. This, she said shows that the elderly can also learn irrespective of their ages. She urged the youth to learn hard to enable them make meaningful contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.

She also encouraged the elderly not to hesitate to seek education if they lack it, stressing that it would help them as individuals and the nation as a whole.
