523 candidates sit for the WASSCE at ADASCO/ASTECH

Ada, May 8, GNA – A total of 523 candidates are sitting the first West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at the Ada Secondary School (ADASCO) and Ada Secondary Technical School (ASTECH) in the Dangme East District of the Greater Accra Region.

While 273 candidates are sitting the exams at ADASCO, 250, made up of 81 girls and 134 boys were writing the examination at the ASTECH. Mr Michael K B Sekley, Assistant Headmaster of ADASCO gave an assurance that efforts had been put in place to ensure incident free examination as had been the practice in the past.

The headmaster of ASTECH, Mr Atto Asare told the GNA on its rounds that the centre was hosting other secondary schools from Ningo, Aveyime, Mepe, Battor and Ada.

The two heads advised the students not to panic because the papers were not different from previous local examinations, however, what was important was for them to study hard to be able to write the examination to the best of their ability.
