5000 unemployed nurses to picket at Flagstaff House

Over 5,000 trainee nurses and midwives who have completed their studies but yet to be posted would besiege the Flagstaff House today.

They will be picketing and occupying the presidency for hours over delays in their postings.

The agitating nurses and midwives say several attempts to get government to address their concerns have failed.

Emmanuel Geyevo, President of the Ghana Nurses and Midwife Trainees Association in an interview with Starr News said they hope to catch the attention of the President with this morning’s action.

“We have lost trust…we have tried to comfort our members but now it is getting out of hands, we can’t sustain their anger again so we are going to the President to ask why we have been left at home after training”.
