5000 benefiting from Akuapem North Mutual Health Insurance

Akropong-Akuapem (E/R), Oct 18, GNA – About 5,000 people in the Akuapem North District are benefiting from the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme with effect from the September 30. Another batch of 1,000 people who have registered with the scheme are expected to complete payment of their subscriptions of 72,000 cedis by the end of the month.

The Manager of the Scheme, Mr Johnson K. N. Budu, told the GNA in an interview that a lot of people are still registering with the scheme and registration of new members had been kept open till the end of this month.

Mr Budu said the scheme had also started registering people working in the formal sector and who are contributors to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust.

The scheme had signed an agreement with all the 12 public health facilities in the district including the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, Mampong-Akuapem, to provide services for the clients of the scheme.
