50-yr-old farmer butchered over GHS12

A 25-year-old man is on the run after stabbing a 50-year-old farmer, Nuhu, to death over GHS12 at Shafa, a farming community in the Sene West district of the Brong Ahafo Region.

According to sources, the deceased farmer, collected an amount of GHS27 from the suspect’s mother by name Humu, with the aim of supplying her maize, but after the harvest, the deceased failed to fulfill his promise, leading to pressure from Humu to pay back her money.

Sources revealed Nuhu was able to raise GHS15, but could not pay the balance of GHS12, leading to tension between him and Humu, a situation, which degenerated into a fight, during which Asibi, Humu’s son emerged at the scene of the brawl armed with a machete and butchered the farmer.

The deceased was rushed to the Kwame Danso Government Hospital but was pronounced dead.
