50 communities in Atwima Mponua call for rehabilitation of roads

Kusikrom (ASH), Nov. 10, GNA – About 50 communities in the Atwima Mponua District, which have their roads in deplorable state, have appeal to government through the district assembly to rehabilitate the roads to ensure easy transport of foodstuffs in the area. The communities include Kusikrom, Domiabra, Debra-camp, Achiase, Akonkye, Bayerebon, Wansamire and Ntrobroso. Opinion leaders in the communities made the call when Mrs Theresah Adomako Tawiah, the District Chief Executive for Atwima Mponua embarked on a familiarization tour of the district.

Mrs Tawiah said the district assembly had purchased a grader to reshape some of the feeder roads in the district. She called for peace, unity and cooperation in the district to speed up development. Mrs Adomako Tawiah appealed to the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme for better health care. She also urged them to rekindle their self-help spirit to receive assistance from the assembly. Nana Kwabena Frimpong Manso, Chief of Kusikrom, one of the communities said some of the communities have employed teachers to teach in primary schools. 10 Nov. 09
