5 persons injured as rival churches clash at a crusade

Five persons were injured as members of two rival churches in Agogo in the Asante Akyem District of the Ashanti Region clashed at a crusade.

The two churches Saviour Church of Ghana and The Saviour Church of Ghana until recently were one unit but had to split following the death of its Founder and Leader Opanyin Asirifi Dadeako.

The Konongo divisional police Chief Superintendent, Alex Amenyo tells Joy News about 200 members of The Saviour Church of Ghana ambushed their rivals to prevent them from holding the crusade.

He said so far no arrest has been made but the five injured persons have been treated and discharged.

Chief Superintendent Alex Amenyo noted that the police have suspended the crusade and launched investigations into the disturbances.
