5 people dead in fatal accident

Five people were reported dead in a fatal accident at Adiembra, off the Wassa Akropong-Dunkwa road in the Western Region yesterday afternoon.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, the accident involved a taxi and a KIA truck.

The eyewitness said the taxi was travelling from Akropong to Dunkwa while the KIA truck was moving in the opposite direction when the accident happened.

Eyewitnesses indicated that the driver of the KIA truck apparently lost control and drove straight into the taxi.

Five passengers on board the taxi were said to have died on the spot and were seen by the road side when it was raining in the area.

The bodies of the victims were later deposited at the Wassa Akropong hospital for autopsy.

This adds to a number of fatal accidents which had claimed many lives on the Akropong-Dunkwa road this year.
