5 female ‘wee’ sellers arrested

Five women are in the grips of the Assin Fosu Police Command for unlawful possession and peddling of substances suspected to be ‘wee’.

The five were arrested in the Assin Fosu township after a tip off resulting in a swoop by the police to rid the area of criminals ahead of the Easter festivities.

The five are Abena Boaduwaa, Akosua Akyea, Ama Serwaa, Comfort Adu and Afia Akyere.

Three men whom the police explained are the kingpins of the drug trade were also picked up in the swoop.

Six parcels of the weed concealed in Kufuor gallons were retrieved from the culprits.

Confirming the arrest to Ultimate News’ Central Regional Correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour, the Assin Fosu District Police commander ASP Henry Batchor said the culprits will be arraigned before court soon.
