Tema, April 16, GNA — A 47-year old man who defiled a 14-year old girl at VALCO Flat, Ashaiman, has been remanded in custody by the Tema circuit court “A”.
Peter Obodai pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on April 29, 2004. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Mary Assunta told the court, presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that on December 12, 2002 at about 7 p.m. the victim said she was asleep at her father’s room when he had gone to work.
Obodai, who lives in the neighbourhood entered the room and forcibly had sex with her and warned the victim not to tell any body.
Chief Inspector Assunta said on December 19, at about 1 p.m. the victim said she closed from school and was sleeping in her father’s room when the accused came again, had sex with her and told her not to reveal it to any body.
However, the victim told certain women in the house about the ordeal who also informed the father, and he (the father) reported it to police. Accused was arrested, and the victim was given a police medical form to go to hospital and the report revealed that her was “hymen broken”.
