Tarkwa (W/R) Feb. 7, GNA- The Tarkwa Circuit Court, presided over by Mr John Aject Nasam, has jailed Joseph Dadzie for 15 years, for impregnating his 14-year old step daughter.
He was sentenced on his own plea.
“I impregnated my wife’s daughter. I accept responsibility and I plead with the Court to be lenient with me,” he confessed.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector, Jonathan Adotey, said Dadzie took advantage of the absence of his wife to have sexual intercourse with the girl and warned her not to disclose the act to anybody.
He said the girl confessed the act to the mother who detected that she was pregnant, leading to the arrest of Nasam.
Giving evidence in Court on Monday, the victim who is pregnant for six months said anytime that her mother travelled, his stepfather used money as a bait to have sexual intercourse with her.
She said her stepfather had been having sexual intercourse with her since February 2004.
