?40m eye centre commissioned

Adiembra (Western Region), 25 Jan. ’99,

A new 40 million cedis Catholic eye centre at Adiembra, near Sekondi, has been commissioned. The centre has a testing room, frames selection room, dispensary and laboratory, a refraction room, an office and a reception. It is a branch of the New Look Optical Centre which has its headquarters at Dzelukope in the Volta Region.

Right Reverend Dr John Martin Darko, Catholic Bishop of Sekondi who commissioned the clinic, urged the management to consider offering hearing services at the centre and assured them the Catholic church’s support saying that residential accommodation for the staff of the centre would be completed in three months’ time. Right Rev. Darko paid tribute to Rev. Father Joseph Cramers, founder of the centre which has branches in Aflao, Jasikan and Kpandu.

Mr. Philip Atsu Aborhor, general manager of the centre at Dzelukope, said the company aims at helping people with eye problems and not to make money. He hoped people would patronise the centre to enable it to stay in business for the benefit of future generations. GRi
