Takoradi, May 18,GNA. 34-year-old trader, Yaw Adjie was on Tuesday slapped with an eight month prison term for stealing two nanny goats at Ntankoful. He pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced accordingly. Giving the facts of the case, Inspector Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over by Mrs. Roberta Enyonam Otriso that, on May 11, 2011, the convict, a resident of Ntankoful, a suburb of Takoradi, was spotted by a young girl in the neighbourhood, untying two female goats belonging to Madam Yaa Ampomaah and reported the theft to the owner. Inspector Ahelegbe said the eye witness also saw the taxi cab that conveyed the goats and upon investigations found the driver of the taxi cab Kwesi Awu, who mentioned Adjie as the one who hired him to convey the goats .. The taxi driver therefore took them to a house at Fijai only to find the goats slaughtered and processed and about to be grilled into khebab. The prosecutor said Adjie was accosted together with the roasted carcass and sent to the Effiakuma Police Station.
