300-kilometre roads in Denkyira district to be rehabilitated

Twifo Praso (C/R), July 22, GNA – Rehabilitation works estimated at 1.9 billion cedis, has began on the five-kilometre Twifo-Number One-Ntiamoah road in the Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira district as part of plans by Government to rehabilitate a total length of 300 kilometres feeder roads in the District.

Mr Abraham Odoom, District Chief Executive, on Wednesday cut the sod to begin the project, which is expected to be completed in six months. Mr Odoom later addressed a public forum where he announced that the District Assembly has constructed 50 school blocks within three years as part of Government’s objective to improve the living conditions of people in the rural areas.

He asked them to patronise the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them enjoy quality health care.

Nana Kwesi Agyekum II, Chief of Ntiamoah, commended the Government for providing funds for the road project, which would ensure easy evacuation of foodstuffs to the urban towns after completion. Mr Nicholas Adu-Mfoafo, Assembly Member for Ntiamoah appealed to the District Directorate of Education to increase the number of teachers in the community to ensure quality education.
