30-year-old man murdered in Ohwim

A man believed to be in his early thirties has been murdered by unknown assailants at Tigo Junction near Ohwim in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti region.

The entire community has been thrown into a state of shock and mourning over the sad incident.

The deceased’s identity is yet to be established. One of the eyes of the deceased has been plugged out by the unknown assailants.

Cutlass wounds were found on parts of his body.

An eyewitness Ibrahim Salifu narrating the incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo blamed armed robbers for killing the deceased.

“My house is near where the incident happened. I woke up around 8am this morning and I saw someone lying in my plantain farm near the roadside. I decided to find out why he was lying there and I realized that he has been attacked by unknown assailants,” he narrated.

Ibrahim added that the Asuofua police came to the scene but they couldn’t convey the body to the morgue saying they lacked a vehicle.

The wife of deceased told the police that she stays at Edwira while her husband is a phone repairer at Sofoline in Kumasi.

Ibrahim Salifu however called on the Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Ken Yeboah to tighten security situation at Ohwim and its environs.
