30 Plus One Hymns Stories,’ a compilation of selected Methodist Hymns and the stories behind them has been launched in Accra.

The Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, was the special guest of honour together with some members of Parliament and former ministers of state were part of the event at the Calvary Methodist Church in Accra.

The compilation was done by the author of the book Very Reverend K Anderson, who is also the Superintendent minister of the Accra North Branch of the Methodist church in Adabraka Accra,

Rev Anderson, said he was motivated by one or two reasons and the inspiration he drew from the Methodist hymns to write the book, so that we know and understand the meaning of the hymns we sing, that is why he decided to make a research so as to see the various reasons why these selected hymns were written.

He said the history and idea of the 31 selected hymns compiled by the past generation were personal inspirations, biblically inspired then some by accident.

Rev Anderson vividly commented on the history and theology of the 31 selected hymns, He explained that God used the Day to day experiences as well as special events in the lifes of the writers to communicate his purpose to his people through that.

He said some of them practised under very strange and difficult circumstances and experienced ups and downs but they remained resilient and never gave up, so as people we should draw inspirations from them to become motivated, copies of the book were sold for 100 to 2000 Ghana cedis .

some of the personalities who graced the occasion were Mrs Joyce Aryee, Mrs Giffy Afenyie Dadzie Madam Faustina Nelson and Papa Owusu Ankomah
