3 Vie for Tema East seat

Robert Kempis-Ofosuware, former Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Tema, has picked a nomination form to contest in the National Democratic (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Tema East Constituency once again.

He is being challenged by the current MCE, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, bringing the number of aspirants to three, the other one being one Noah Apedo Cranstia, a trader and farmer.

Mr. Odamtten’s form was picked on his behalf by his personal aide, Nii Adjetey Annan, while Mr. Kempis-Ofosuware personally picked his.

The sitting MCE claimed that he was only informed that someone had picked a form on his behalf but he rather wanted to concentrate on his position as MCE to bring development and security to the metropolis.

He said he might come out officially with a press statement on the issue.

Mr. Ofosuware, who lost by three votes to Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2012 polls, was optimistic that he might capture back the seat in the 2016 parliamentary election.
