3 To Contest NDC Primary

Three candidates from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have filed their nominations for the party’s primary to select a candidate to contest the bye-election in the Asawase constituency in the Ashanti Region.

This has become necessary as a result of the death of Dr. Adamu Gibril, the Member of Parliament for the constituency who died on Saturday, March 26, 2005. The three who are seeking to contest the Asawase bye-election on the ticket of the NDC are Alhaji Awudu Ariff, the deputy national organiser of the NDC, Mr. Ahmed Abubakar of Kumasi and Mohammed Mubarak, an employee of Alhaji Salia industries. In an interview in Accra yesterday, Mr. Bede Zeideng, the acting general secretary of the NDC, said all was set for the primary tomorrow in Kumasi.
