3 jailed 63yrs for attempted robbery

A Dunkwa Circuit Court presided over by His Lordship Samuel Asare-Nyarko has sentenced three persons to a total of 63 years in prison with hard labour for attempted robbery.

The accused persons, Francis Armah, Emmanuel Armah and Kwabena Nyarko will each spend 21 years in prison.

According to the prosecution, the accused persons were arrested by the Dunkwa District police when they attempted to rob a house occupied by a Chinese national at Attechem, a suburb of Dunkwa-Offin in the Central Region.

The police retrieved a pump action gun, locally manufactured pistol and cartridges from them.

Though the convicts pleaded not guilty to the charges and even engaged the services of a lawyer, the court found them guilty and convicted them accordingly.
