2ND LEGAL INFORMATION & KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

In recent times, there has been persistent call on legal professionals to adopt the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICTs) because it is paramount to their work.

In response to the above, the Ghana Bar Association in collaboration with AITEC Ghana is organizing the 2nd Legal Information and Knowledge Management workshop under the theme: INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY & TODAY?S LEGAL PROFESSION, scheduled for 13th and 14th July 2005 at Busy Internet.

The workshop is a follow up on the Legal Information & knowledge workshop held in April 2004. The 2nd Legal Information & Knowledge workshop seeks to increase the relevance of Legal knowledge management and its contributions to the legal profession. This workshop presents unparallel opportunities, innovations and strategies for the legal Counsel.

Some of the key knowledge management areas to be discussed include;

Accentuating strategies for applying technology driven information systems and how to identify manage legal information knowledge management strategy.

Furthermore, how to implement information security and knowledge systems in the most cost-effective manner.

At the end of the two day workshop, participants will benefit among the following:

Firstly, to align knowledge management concepts to legal practices and its relevance to achieving organizational goal.

Secondly, to develop a legal knowledge management strategy.

Last but not the least, to develop strategies that would help learn more from the knowledge available in their workspace through identification, locating and management of legal knowledge.

The workshop will help maximize the return of participating legal practitioners, corporate counsel, magistrates, judges and information executives
