2nd Lady assists three communities in Western region

Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur has appealed to political parties and their supporters to embark on a campaign toward ensuring peace ahead of elections in November 2016.

The Second Lady made the statement on Tuesday when she donated quantity of Gas cylinders, Gas cookers, head pans, head trays and nets for fishmongers to three communities in the Western region valued at millions of cedi’s.

The beneficiary communities were Princess town, Egyambra and Miemia in the Ahanta West District in the Western Region.

Donating the Equipment’s in the various towns. Mrs. Matilda Amissah- Arthur said she was doing this in her own small way to help the people in the area especially fishmongers who needs assistance to cushion and encourage them to work hard.

In her presentations, she commended the people of the area for keeping their communities clean and living in peace and unity.

Mrs. Amissah-Arthur said her vision is simply to help in her own small way so as to put smiles on the faces of the women and that is she has taken it upon herself to do this.

Personally, she is someone who has been working hard by going round the various regions in the country to contribute her quota by donating to the less privileged in the country through her own initiative, especially working to empower women as a source of livelihood.

The chiefs and elders in the various areas that she made the donation took the opportunity to thank her for her kind gesture especially in the area of providing the facilities and urged her to continue with her good works.

She was accompanied by the Deputy Western Regional Minister Hon Kow Gyan and the MP for the Area Hon Aboagye.
