288 days left to fix Ghana – Bawumia

New Patriotic Party vice presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has begun the countdown to election 2016, assuring Ghanaians that victory for the NPP will lead to the total transformation of Ghana.

He said the destiny of the young oil-producing country is in the hands of the people, who will be heading to the polls on November 7 to elect a new president and members of parliament.

Dr Bawumia’s boss Akufo-Addo will be contesting incumbent John Dramani Mahama of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the second time, having lost the 2012 elections which ended up in the Supreme Court.

Visiting locals of Dagomba Line area, located around the main Aboabo drain in Kumasi of the Ashanti region after a fire outbreak, in the company of Nana Akufo-Addo, the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana said the time has come for Ghanaians to give the main opposition party another chance to fix the economy.

“We have [288] more days left for Ghanaians to witness the proper management of the National Health Insurance Scheme to be put, [288] days towards the restoration of teaching and nursing trainee allowances, and [288] more days for the prudent management of the nation’s resources.” Dr. Bawumia noted.

Describing the John Mahama government as “incompetent”, Dr. Bawumia urged the electorate “to vote for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He’s the leader who has your welfare at heart and has always put the Ghanaian people first.”

Nana Akufo-Addo, in his brief remarks to the gathering, also urged them to vote for him and the NPP, so that “Ghana’s fortunes can be turned around”.
