Kumasi, March 16, GNA – A 27-year-old labourer at Aboabo-Akorem, a suburb of Kumasi, Issah Musah, was on Tuesday sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment in hard labour by a Kumasi circuit court for defilement. Musah, married with two children, pleaded guilty to defiling a 10-year-old girl.

Police Chief Inspector John Kobina Afful told the court that the victim (name withheld) is a maid and lives with the mistress at Aboabo Nima.

He said on the March 9, Musah lured the victim into an uncompleted building and sexually abused her. The prosecutor said her screaming attracted some people to the scene who arrested Musah and handed him over to the Asawase police.
