Tarkwa, Sept. 18, GNA – A Tarkwa circuit court has sentenced 27 year old Samuel Atilaro to 10 years imprisonment for defiling a seven year old girl.
He pleaded not guilty. The trial began April this year. Prosecuting Police Inspector Florence Tawiah said the seven year old victim and the accused live in the same house at Appiakrom near Wassa Akropong. She said on April 14 this year, the parents of the victim left her in the house in the care of her sister at Wassa Akropong. Inspector Tawiah said the accused took advantage of the absence of the parents and lured the victim into his room and defiled her. The prosecutor said the victim informed her parents as soon as they returned and when she was examined at the Wassa Akpropong Hospital, it was detected that her hymen has been broken with several bruises around the vulva.
