27 couples in mass wedding

Assin Fosu (C/R), Sept 16, GNA-Twenty-seven couples received the sacrament of holy matrimony at a mass wedding celebrated at the Assin Fosu Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Sunday.

The Rev. Father Michael Buah, the parish priest,explained that the mass wedding was aimed at cutting down cost. A similar wedding involving six couples was held in 1996 at the same parish.

In a sermon, Rev.Father Buah advised the congregation to desist from anti-social practices, adding that the couples were to ensure that “you have a happy and successful marriage”.

Mr Abraham Fokua, Assin District Chief Executive, also advised them to promote political and religious tolerance.

Mr Thomas Yallow, Officer in charge of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE),called on Christians to love one another.
