26 farmers receive awards in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Beakwi District

Baakokrom (W/R), Dec. 4, GNA – A 41-year-old Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Bauxite Company at Awaso, Mr George Ampong was adjudged the best farmer in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District on Friday. He was honoured alongside 25 others including a physically challenged person, Mr Oscar Adansi Bonah, for their outstanding contributions to the growth of agriculture at this year’s Farmers’ Day celebration held at Sefwi Baakokrom.

Mr Ampong took home a 21-inch colour television (TV), wellington boots, cutlasses and a wall clock. Other award winners took away bicycles, spraying machines, wellington boots and cutlasses. In the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, Mr Kwame Jumaa, 42, from Atwima-Ahodwo, emerged the overall best farmer for the year. Together with 17 other farmers, he was presented with his prize at a well attended Farmers’ Day celebration at Sokwai. 4 Dec. 10
